Political Science, Middle East Studies
Areas of Expertise:
Theories of International Relations & Global Order, Societal & Political Dynamics in the Middle East & North Africa, Israel-Palestine Conflict
I am Senior Research Fellow and Lecturer in Global Politics and Conflict Studies at the Institute of Political Science of the Universität der Bundeswehr München, Germany. My research focuses on historic and international political sociologies of International Relations, in particular, on Foucauldian post-structuralism and (de-)constructionist theories of global order(ing). My regional focus lies on societal and political dynamics in the Middle East and North Africa.
In my research I constantly try to transcend disciplinary boundaries. I work especially on the intersection of the (sub-) disciplines of Political Science/International Relations, Sociology and History. In particular, by feeling at home in both International Relations and Middle East Studies, transdisciplinarity is a fundamental basis of my identity as a researcher.
Accordingly, the AGYA offers the perfect setting to cooperatively advance cutting-edge research in a vibrant interdisciplinary and intercultural environment. In the context of the AGYA, I intend to pursue a project on the role of bordering spaces for the societal and political order of the Middle East.
